Conor McGregor’s Knockout Punch Stuns Heat Mascot.

The Miami Heat mascot was defeated by former UFC champion Conor McGregor during a poorly executed midgame stunt.

After absorbing two punches from McGregor during a third-quarter stoppage of Game 4 of the NBA Finals between the Heat and the Denver Nuggets, Burnie—or more accurately, the man wearing Burnie’s costume—briefly sought medical assistance Friday night.

The unidentified worker received painkillers and was receiving treatment at home, according to a story from The Heat on Saturday.

The Miami audience booed McGregor before the joke even began because he was there as a commercial gimmick for a pain-relief spray. The flaming mascot was decked up with huge boxing gloves and a robe like what a boxer would put on before entering the ring. Burnie was knocked out with a left hook from McGregor, who then pounded the mascot once more after he had fallen on the ground.

McGregor tried to “spray” the painkiller on Burnie as he was being taken off the field by a number of Heat in-game advertising personnel.

McGregor hasn’t fought since sustaining a left leg injury in a loss to Dustin Poirier at UFC 264 in July 2021. His most recent triumph came in January 2020.
