The US Navy conducted strikes against an Iranian-backed Houthi surface-to-air missile that was preparing to launch from Yemen on March 1. U.S.CENTCOM, in a post on ‘X,’ said that Houthis were preparing to launch attacks from controlled areas of Yemen in the Red Sea. The US military also said, “At 10:46 p.m. (Sanaa time), the Houthis launched one anti-ship ballistic missile (ASBM) from Yemen into the Red Sea, but failed to damage any vessels.” The US strike came a day after Houthi chief Abdul Malik Al-Houthi warned of a ‘military surprise’ in their Red Sea operations.
