Chinese smartphone maker Realme has announced that its global smartphone shipments have surpassed 200 millionunits. In 2021, the company reached the 100 million sales milestone. Since then it has continued to grow in multiple markets. According to a report by Counterpoint, Realme experienced a 51% quarter-over-quarter growth in the second quarter of 2023.As per IDC’s Q3 2023 rankings, the company has also gone up from its third position in Q2 2023 to secure the second spot among the top 10 smartphone brands in India.
The significant growth of Realme was possible due to the company’s management of inventory and demand, marketing promotions, and the launch of new 5G devices. Throughout the year, The company has also marked various milestones across its product range. Several smartphone models from the brand emerged as the bestsellers in their respective segments.

With the 200 million global shipments milestone, Realme has turned out to be a mainstream smartphone brand in India as well as global markets. The company’s shipments in the international market have increased which has empowered it to bring even better products to young users worldwide.

In 2024, Realme is planning to significantly increase its investment in research and development. This is expected to boost the company’s technological capabilities with a planned 470% increase in R&D spending. The brand will also focus on breakthroughs in innovative technologies, specialising in imaging, gaming, display and charging.

Realme collaborates with over 33 leading international tech partners to develop cutting-edge technologies. The brand is set to expand its pool of tech talent and engage in Research and technology team expansion, with an expected 400% increase in research personnel next year.
