Harmanpreet Kaur has a massive fan-following as she keeps Indian Women’s cricket to greater heights. The veteran is currently playing in the three-match T20I series against Heather Knight’s England.
India played in front of a packed Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai on Wednesday, December 6, although they lost the match by 38 runs to go 0-1 down in the series.
During this while, one of the fans showed how much she admired Harmanpreet. The fan went to the venue with the hope of getting Harmanpreet’s autograph, but in the end, she had to return empty-handed.
The fan was left in tears as her dreams remained unfulfilled. Harmanpreet, in the meantime, reacted to the video of the fan.
“A moment of complete love and innocence. Blessed and love,” Harmanpreet wrote on her Instagram story.
Harmanpreet scored 26 runs off 21 balls with three fours and one six in the opening match before left-arm spinner Sophie Ecclestone accounted for her wicket. Chasing a big target of 198, India fell way short and finished with 159 for six in 20 overs.
Harmanpreet and India will be looking to make amends when they face Knight’s women in the second game on Saturday, December 9.
Harmanpreet is one of the three Indians along with Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma to score more than 3000 runs in T20Is. In 156 WT20Is, the 34-year-old has racked up 3180 runs at an average of 28.14 with one hundred and 11 half-centuries to her name.
Earlier this year, Harmanpreet also captained the Mumbai Indians to glory in the inaugural edition of the Women’s Premier League (WPL). She has also played three Tests and 127 ODIs since her debut way back in 2009 against Pakistan.
