The White House has decided to impose sanctions on Iran following the unprecedented air attack against Israel a few days ago. While world leaders have urged Israel not to retaliate after Iran launched hundreds of drones and missiles over the weekend, The Israeli Defense Force (IDF) has asserted that it will retaliate against Iran.

According to Israel, Iran launched over 300 missiles and attack drones in the barrage. Iran said the attack was a response to an alleged Israeli airstrike that killed two Iranian generals in Syria on April 1.

  • Spain calls for recognizing a Palestinian state: Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez said that an independent Palestinian state should be recognized as soon as possible. “Spain will strive for Palestine to become a full member of the UN,” Sanchez said.

Israel captured the West Bank in the 1967 Mideast War and has built scores of settlements there that are now home to over 500,000 Jewish settlers.
