Chatgpt can help you draft a letter, a tweet and even a business plan, but can it help you design a tech tool to be sold to the investors? Well, it really can, and it exactly did to these two youngsters who managed to rake in a whopping over ₹one crore by selling the same.
Sounds incredible, but true!
Two friends Salvatore Aiello and Monica Powers jointly designed – with the aid of ChatGPT — a tool called DimeADozen to test business ideas.
For this, they pooled in a tiny investment called $185.
And luckily, they could turn this diminutive investment (around ₹15,000) into a successful business by creating a tool called DimeADozen. This tool was later sold for a whopping $150,000 (over ₹1.2 Crore) to Felipe Arosemena and Danielle de Corneille, CNBC reported.
Who is Salvatore Aiello?
He is an experienced techie with 17 years in engineering, which includes nearly a decade as a CTO and Startup Founder. He has seen the web evolve from jQuery to React, and worked on everything from back-office tools to client-facing applications. He also launched several startups.
As a product and founder, he is the main decision-maker, focusing on achieving product-market fit.
Who is Monica Powers?
She is also a seasoned professional with more than 15 years of experience under her belt of building early-stage companies, covering areas such as education, AI, and finance.
She played a pivotal role as the first designer at ClassDojo, where she contributed to its significant growth from 5,000 to 50 million users.
ClassDojo is now used in a vast majority of K-8 schools in the US and over 180 countries. She has also held key roles at companies like Hum Capital, where she was Chief Product Officer and Head of Design, and she founded Cheeky Brands.
The tool they developed
DimeADozen is an AI-powered tool that enables entrepreneurs to prepare detailed reports by taking their business ideas. It examines potential investors, customers, and competitors to give valuable insights quickly and efficiently.
It started when both used ChatGPT to ask smart questions, honing them to get useful information.
They realised more people could benefit from this and built an AI research tool. DimeADozen simplified the process. People could share their ideas through a form, and the tool used smart maths to make detailed reports about potential investors, customers, and competitors.
In seven months, they made over $66,000, CNBC reported.
Even after selling the business, they continue to be advisors in the company. They want their tool to be widely used by big companies such as Salesforce.
