New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate several development projects worth around ₹7,500 crore in Maharashtra on 26 October before kicking off the National Games in Goa later in the day, the Prime Minister’s Office said on Wednesday. More than 10,000 athletes from across the country will compete in over 43 sports disciplines at the National Games in Goa.
In Maharashtra, Modi will inaugurate the left bank canal network of the Nilwande Dam, about 85 kilometers in length, that’s set to benefit 182 villages.
Modi will also launch the ‘Namo Shetkari Mahasanman Nidhi Yojana’, expected to aid more than 86 lakh beneficiaries of the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana in Maharashtra by providing them an additional ₹6,000 per year.
Modi will also inaugurate several development projects including Ayush Hospital at Ahmednagar Civil Hospital, the electrification of the Kurduwadi-Latur Road railway section, the third and fourth railway lines connecting Jalgaon to Bhusaval, four lanes of the Sangli to Borgaon section of NH-166, and additional facilities at the Manmad terminal of Indian Oil Corporation Limited.
He will also lay the foundation stone of the maternal and child health wing at Ahmednagar Civil Hospital apart from distributing Ayushman cards and Svamitva cards to beneficiaries, the statement said.
