In a post on social media platform X (formerly X) he said there is no reason other than that he does not feel like ruling anymore. He said that he had received a lot of love from the people for which he is very grateful and he feels fortunate that he got an opportunity to work in an organisation like the BJP. “I learned a lot in politics and some colleagues have become a family forever, I will always be indebted to them in life,” he wrote, adding that he has no interest in contesting elections anymore. Meanwhile, in China, Li Shangfu was removed from his position as defence minister and state councillor in the country’s second leadership shake-up in three months. Some of China’s top lawmakers also voted to remove former foreign minister Qin Gang from his position as state councillor. State news agency Xinhua reported that Li was removed without explanation after weeks of speculation over the fate of the US-sanctioned general, who has not been seen in public since August. Li is the second minister to be abruptly removed since Xi Jinping began his unprecedented third term last October.
