MUMBAI: Godrej & Boyce, the flagship company of the Godrej Group, has set a goal to derive 50% of its revenues from its `good & green’ products portfolio in the next decade.
This is part of the organization’s sustainability targets for 2032, according to a statement issued by the firm.
Jamshyd N Godrej, chairman and MD of Godrej & Boyce, underscored the unparalleled economic opportunity that sustainability presents.He said, “Our vision isn’t merely about growth but about sustainable progress in harmony with our planet, driven by meaningful collaborations at all levels. In the last decade, we have achieved some critical milestones in our sustainable journey and have taken an equivalent stretch for the decade ahead. From moving towards a wholly green supply chain, improving our skilling programs to increase employability to generating at least 50% of our revenues from Good & Green products, we are scaling up our sustainability targets, demonstrating our firm commitment to climate action and societal development.”
Godrej & Boyce said it has further fortified its criteria for Good & Green products, emphasizing stringent environmental and social parameters.
As the company celebrates a decade of its Good & Green ethos, notable milestones include generating over one-third of revenues from this approach, facilitating over 600 green buildings, doubling energy productivity, and providing vocational skills training to over 180,000 youth.
The sustainability targets for the next decade are set to redefine possibilities, including earning 50% of revenues through Good & Green Products, achieving a 60% increase in energy productivity, a 60% reduction in carbon intensity, a 40% share of renewable energy, 100% net-zero buildings, and 80% domestic buying from green suppliers.
