“Spider-Man 2 SDCC Trailer Drops Major Bombshell: Venom Host Identity Revealed!”

There has been considerable talk over whom character in Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 would be the host that Venom would take over, but a brand-new teaser debuting at San Diego Comic Con seems to have verified the most apparent possibility. One of Spider-Man’s most well-known villains, Venom was hinted in Miles Morales and Marvel’s Spider-Man before being confirmed for the eagerly awaited sequel, which will debut on October 20, 2023, only for the PlayStation 5.

Harry Osborn will be the host of Venom, according to the most recent teaser from Insomniac Games, which was released at SDCC during the Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 panel (via Twitter).

This may not come as a surprise given the strong hints made in the post-credit sequences of Miles Morales and Marvel’s Spider-Man that Harry will be symbiotized. Throughout the first game, it became clear that Harry was confined to a lab by his father, Norman Osborn, and that the Venom symbiote was apparently being utilised as an experimental therapy for the uncommon sickness that had killed his mother.

Due to his health issues, Harry Osborn was mainly missing from the previous two Marvel’s Spider-Man video games, but he will play a significant role in Venom’s host in Marvel’s Spider-Man 2. Although it hasn’t been confirmed that the alien symbiote in Insomniac’s world is from space, Tony Todd will voice it as a separate character. The actor’s most well-known part is probably that of the Candyman in the 1990s horror film series, which helped him get the Venom voice acting gig. Bryan Intihar of Insomniac Games claimed at SDCC that he recognised Todd’s voice from the Candyman teaser as the ideal choice for the role of Venom.

Even though Harry Osborn is definitely going to be Venom’s host in Marvel’s Spider-Man 2, it seems like his time in that position won’t last long. The fact that Peter can be seen employing Venom’s skills while wearing the black symbiote suit in previously published gameplay may indicate that Harry is successfully freed of the symbiote early on in the game. Additionally, Insomniac has previously asserted that its rendition of Venom is a wholly new creation, claiming, “It’s not Eddie Brock,” or any other former host coming back. It’s possible that Harry Osborn may serve as Venom’s host for the majority of Marvel’s Spider-Man 2, but it doesn’t seem realistic.
