A tiny aircraft carrying an Indian pupil and his Filipino instructor pilot crashes – indiansupdate.com

Following an aircraft accident in the Philippines, an Indian student and a Filipino instructor aviator perish. A tiny aircraft carrying an Indian pupil and his Filipino instructor pilot crashes across the northern part of the Philippines.

The Philippine News Agency reported that the Echo Air Cessna 152 plane, which had two seats, crashed in Apayao province. The accident occurred on Tuesday afternoon after the plane departed from Laoag International Airport at 12:16 pm local time. Its intended destination was Tuguegarao Airport at 3:16 p.m.

The two individuals who lost their lives in the crash were identified as Capt. Unfortunately, their bodies remain at the crash site due to adverse weather conditions. Efforts to retrieve the bodies have been hampered by the challenging weather, and a medical and rescue team aboard a Philippine Air Force Black Hawk helicopter has been dispatched to the crash site. However, they are facing difficulties finding a suitable landing spot.

In response to the incident, the Philippine Air Force, army troops, and other government personnel have been mobilized to conduct a search operation. Nevertheless, the inclement weather has posed challenges to their efforts. The crash site is located at the border of Barangay Salvacion, Luna town, and Barangay San Mariano in Pudtol town, according to Joeffrey Borromeo, the head of Apayao Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (PDRRMO).

According to the Apayao provincial government, the final communication from the plane arrived 35 kilometres northwest of Alcala, Cagayan. Echo Air International Aviation Academy, the operator of the aircraft, has had all its operations suspended following the incident. Regrettably, this is the third crash involving a Cessna plane in the Philippines this year. In a previous incident, four individuals on board a Cessna lost their lives after the plane crashed near Mayon Volcano’s crater in February last year.
