Today in Delhi, a tragic incident occurred near Aurobindo College in Malviya Nagar, where a college student was killed after being attacked with a rod. The victim, Nargis, a 25-year-old student of Kamala Nehru College, was found with injuries to her head. The police discovered the rod near her body.

The police investigation revealed that Nargis had come to the park with her distant cousin, Irfan, who has been arrested for allegedly murdering her. It was discovered that Irfan wanted to marry Nargis, but her family refused due to his lack of employment. After the proposal rejection, Nargis stopped communicating with Irfan, which left him disturbed and upset. As a result, he resorted to killing her.

Chandan Chowdhary, South Delhi Deputy Commissioner of Police, stated that Irfan’s actions were driven by his emotional distress caused by the broken marriage proposal and Nargis’ subsequent rejection of him.

The Chairperson of the Delhi Commission for Women, Swati Maliwal, expressed concern about the incident on social media, emphasizing the need for greater safety in Delhi and the issue of crimes against women. This incident highlights the importance of addressing safety concerns and ensuring the protection of individuals in the city.
