Google has finally brought games to its video streaming platform, YouTube. As an experiment, the Playables, available to YouTube Premium subscribers, allow users to play games on YouTube instantly without needing to install any of the games or separate apps.
YouTube’s Playables feature allows users to play various games on the YouTube website or mobile app. The platform will initially introduce “easily shareable games.” One of the games available for testing is the popular game Angry Birds: Showdown.

We received the option to turn on the experiment “Play games on YouTube,” which gives access to the games on the streaming platform.

1

To access Playables, simply navigate to the ‘Playables’ shelf on the Home page or under the ‘Explore’ menu on desktop or mobile. This will allow you to easily discover and play a variety of interactive mini-games and experiences right within the app.
Here is a list of the games available on YouTube Playables. The list includes games such as Scooter Extreme, State.io, Brain Out, 8 Ball Billiards Classic, Color Burst 3D, Stack Bounce, Daily Crossword, Daily Solitaire, Color Pixel Art, Carrom Clash, Cannon Balls 3D, Basketball FRVR, Angry Birds Showdown, Cube Tower, and Crazy Caves.
From puzzle games like Brain Out and Daily Crossword to action-packed games like Scooter Extreme and Cannon Balls 3D, there is something for everyone. These games will be accessible on the YouTube website using web browsers or mobile apps on Google’s Android and Apple’s iOS operating systems.

The Playables experiment will remain open till March 28. It is expected that the full rollout of the service will happen only after that date. Google has not yet provided any information on the exact launch date of Playables, so it is likely that we won’t see it in a stable form until the first half of 2024. Until then, you will need to be a YouTube Premium subscriber and be fortunate enough to be invited to participate in the testing phase.
