Although Afghanistan and India have encountered each other in several Asian Cricket Council (ACC) and ICC events, this upcoming series represents the first instance of these nations participating in a multi-match white-ball series. The teams have previously faced off in five T20I matches, all of which were won by India.
Afghanistan’s recent visit to India for the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup 2023 saw them secure the 6th position on the points table. During the tournament, they achieved notable victories against England, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, and Bangladesh.
