How to watch the Made by Googe event
The W8 is Almost Over | Made by Google on October 4, 2023
The Google Pixel event is happening on October 4th, 2023, at 7:30 PM IST. You can watch the live stream on Google’s website, YouTube channel, or on the company’s social media handles.
What to expect at the Made by Google event – Pixel 8, Watch 2, and more
We will see two Pixel phones at the event – Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro – making their debut at the event. While the two have a familiar design language as their predecessor, some changes are expected inside.
The Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro would feature a 6.17-inch and 6.8-inch OLED, having a variable refresh rate of up to 120Hz. Aside from that, the two phones will look the same, though the Pro will lose the curves, coming with a curved display this time.
The two phones will be powered by Google’s new Tensor G3 chip, which could be paired with 8GB RAM on the vanilla and 12GB on the Pro. If rumours are to be believed, the Pixel 8 could come with seven years of software support.
The Pixel 8 Pro and the Pixel 8 are said to have a 50MP camera, which could capture double the light compared to the main sensor on the last generation. Then, the Pixel 8 Pro would upgrade the ultrawide camera to a 48MP sensor, while the Pixel 8 would feature a 12MP ultrawide camera, and both would support macro focus. The Pixel 8 Pro would have a 48MP telephoto lens with 5x zoom. On the front, the two cameras are said to have a 10.5MP camera.

There could be some new AI-powered features in store, too, including Magic Editor, Best Take, and Audio Eraser. The Pixel 8 Pro would also have Pro controls for videos and photos.
Google has not yet confirmed the pricing for the Pixel 8 and 8 Pro, but there are rumours suggesting that both models may be getting a price increase. According to a report by 9to5Google, the Pixel 8 is expected to be priced at $699, which is higher than the $599 price tag of the Pixel 7. Similarly, the Pixel 8 Pro is rumoured to be priced at $999, up from the $899 price of the Pixel 7 Pro.
We expect a similar price increase in India as well. In India, the Pixel 7 was launched at Rs 59,999, while the Pixel 7 Pro had been priced at Rs 84,999.
The new Pixel 8 phones will come with Android 14 pre-loaded, and if rumours are to be believed, Google could release Android 14 for older Pixel phones on the same day. The Android 14 will bring passkeys, AI-generated wallpapers, and more.
The Pixel 8 would come in grey, black and pink colours, and sky blue, porcelain, and black are expected to be the colour options for the Pixel 8 Pro.
Alongside the new phones, there will be Pixel Watch 2. There is not much expected to change in terms of look, but it is rumoured to come with upgraded hardware. The upcoming Pixel Watch 2 is expected to pack the Snapdragon W5 Series chip, which promises better efficiency than its predecessor. The device will run on the latest Android 13-powered Wear OS 4, which offers dynamic theming, seamless updates, and ultra-wideband (UWB) capabilities.
Sneak Peek at Google Pixel Watch 2
While the first-gen Pixel Watch was not launched in India, Google has confirmed the launch of Pixel Watch 2 in India. So far, there is no word on the pricing. The Pixel Watch 2 is rumoured to come in three colours – gold, black, and silver.
Google’s may also unveil new colours for the Pixel Buds Pro. A porcelain case for the buds that match the new Pixel Watch 2 and Pixel 8 Pro has already been teased. 9to5Google has reported that the Pixel Buds Pro may also come in a sky blue colour.
