NEW DELHI: The registration window for H-1B visas, highly sought-after by Indian IT professionals, for fiscal 2025 is set to close on March 22, as per a statement from a federal agency.
The H-1B visa is designed for US companies to hire foreign workers in specialized fields requiring theoretical or technical expertise, with technology firms relying heavily on it to recruit thousands of employees annually from nations like India and China.
The initial registration phase for these visas is scheduled to end at 12 noon Eastern Time on March 22, as announced by the US Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) on Monday.
During this phase, prospective petitioners and legal representatives are required to register each beneficiary electronically through the USCIS online account for the selection process and pay the relevant registration fee for each beneficiary.
USCIS also mentioned that online account users will have access to enhanced organisational features to facilitate collaboration on registrations and petitions.
Additionally, USCIS informed that Form I-129 for H-1B petitions and Form I-907 for premium processing service are now available in USCIS online accounts, with online filing for H-1B cap petitions commencing on April 1.
“We will provide updates on the availability of online filing for non-cap H-1B petitions,” USCIS said.
