NEW DELHI: Five people including three children were found dead in the Hawaiian city of Honolulu in what appears to be a murder-suicide, the police said on Sunday.
The preliminary probe reveals that the husband stabbed his wife and kids, Lt Deena Thoemmes said. However, the husband’s cause of death remains unknown and is being probed, she added.
The kids were aged 10, 12 and 17.The age of the adults remains unknown.
Thoemmes said that there was no history of domestic calls to the property, and that police had no justification for the deaths.
On receiving an anonymous call, the Police reached the site at 8.30am (local time) but couldn’t enter the house as the door was locked.
They returned around 9.15am (local time) after receiving another call when they found four people stabbed. The husband was found dead too.
The five deaths are the state’s worst mass homicides since the Xerox murders on November 2, 1999, when Bryan Koji Uyesugi fatally murdered seven coworkers, including his boss, according to chief Joe Logan.
