The United States said that Russia’s defence minister Sergei Shoigu visited North Korea last month to strengthen military ties and to request an increase in North Korean arms supplies. US’ National Security Council spokesperson John Kirby said any arms deal between the two countries would violate a series of UN Security Council resolutions.
